OUR SERVICES

SWORN
TRANSLATION

The sworn translation, also referred to as public, legal, official or certified translation, is endorsed by the signature and seal of a sworn translator who is authorized by the official authorities to translate official documents. Hence, this type of documents is regarded as having formal status by the government departments.

At Meanings®, we provide translations of official documents used for formal purposes. This includes extracts from public registries (land registry, land and mortgage register), certificates issued by the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, and other documents such as diplomas, official reports and papers issued by the Notary Public. When circulating between companies, embassies or countries, many documents require a certified copy in the relevant foreign language that is produced by a sworn translator, including the terms of delivery, title deeds, school certificates, college degrees, purchase contracts, employment contracts, pension agreements, bailiff’s notifications, warranty statements, summons, insolvency declarations, affidavits, wills, adoption records, witness statements, court rulings, non-bankruptcy orders, etc.

Meanings® can help you get all your official papers finalized at short notice.

Legalization

A legalized translation is a sworn translation that is submitted to the relevant authority (usually a governmental department or ministry) to be validated accordingly. The competent authority then confirms the validity of the translator’s signature and entitlement to produce a sworn translation. Upon request, Meanings® can arrange for a translated document to be “legalized”.

GENERAL
TRANSLATION

General texts usually require little to no extensive depth in a specialist area and they are not particularly complex. Nevertheless, they can be challenging sometimes and that’s why not any bilingual graduate can do this job successfully. Only a seasoned translator is qualified to produce a translation in which the initial message is properly conveyed in the target language. General translation often involves news articles, press releases, brochures, handbooks, travelogues, private or business letters, job applications, etc. Yes, it may not be rocket science, but it still needs excellent writing skills to communicate the information conveniently to all the readers. General translation at Meanings® will certainly measure up to your standards.
